Do you HEAR what I hear?

Do you hear what I hear...yeah I don't think so. It was last July I blew out my right ear drum. So the doctor said it would most likely heal on its own and there was nothing to worry about. At the time it did not cause any discomfort so we left it alone, about four or five months ago my ear started to bother me. Well the ear still had a hole in it and it started to hurt, the doctor told me it could be fixed, however, it would mean surgery...I was not excited about that thought.

So I was off to see a specialist, he then advised me of my options...he could do surgery or let it be. I don't do needles so the thought of surgery was not easy..the doctor started to explain the process of the procedure, he aburptly stopped as I about passed out in the chair. The date was set and we were good to go...

So big day had arrived, August 15 and it was time....I thought I was ready to go... Um I was unprepared to say the least.

We showed up @ 8:30 and we were scheduled for an 11:20 operation...they started the iv at 9 and then they let Joe & my friend Patty in the pre-opt. Area..we were able to watch tv and visit. So the nurse informed us we would be up in no time. Well that soon turned in to me not being wheeled back to surgery until after 1. That was the longest 5 hours of my life!! I was very nervous, but they gave my good drugs and I was out before I even remember why I was there.

I woke up in recovery room at 5:00 p.m. and I remember I was really hot. They cooled me down and let me go home by 6:30. It was a way longer day then I planned on...

So the road to recovery was suppose to be a few days of pain, and I would be up and around in no time. YEAH RIGHT!! I was laid out flat for four days with pain like none other. I called to get something else but the doctor said he didn't understand why I was in so much pain. He said he needed to do a check up to ensure there was no infection. There was no infection and stronger meds were given (percot). The doctor placed a spoung thing in my ear and it will b taken out the following Monday.

It's amazing how much I took for granted my hearing. The last week I have felt like a fish under water on one side and then everything super loud on the other side... walking was a whole different story...the balance was off...I had to really pay attention to what I was doing..the boys have had to help me walk or to go to another room...they have been a big help to me...

So with the post opt appointment, all looked great and the spoungy thingy was removed. The best part was that I was not in any pain when he removed the spoung. However, the ear pain was still pretty intense and I was not able to walk or drive completely at this point. It was decieded that I needed an additional week to heal and so that meant no work. In theory that sounds good but to do the normal things in life was a chore and overwhelming!

During my recovery we were showered with meals from our Ward family! It was actually really nice to be on the receiving end of that once!

However, it has been almost 4 weeks since the surgery and it has been 5 days of no pain medicine at all!! :) I have my balance back and am almost at 100%. I still can't bend over completely to get anything off the floor. I get crazy dizzy and then I can pass out. So we will leave that one alone for a little longer!

I can hear out of the right ear almost like normal, it is still just a little muffled but Doctor said that it should come back after 6 weeks.

So life is somewhat back to normal! :)

A little Change.....

Life has been a little more then crazy with work, Joey's baseball, house duties, and church callings...so I need to have a little change in my life...so here is the new change!! Its fun and I am loving it!! Hollar Hollar!!

So it has been a while since we posted anything...we are all still alive and well!! It seems life has just flown by and I am on the sidelines watching everything zoom by...

We have busy with Joey's school work, paperwork, Joe recovery from his eye produce, cub scouts, paperwork, baseball, sick boys, paper work, work, working extra hours, more paper work, church callings, paper work, life, trying to spend quality time with our little family, and just in case I didn't mention, PAPERWORK! Some days I hit the pillow and don't remember anything until the alarm going off the next morning at 5:00 a.m.!

We have for the most part enjoying life, its a little busier than I would like but all is good!!

Joe has been recovering well since his procedure. He has be able to gain majority of his eye sight back, however, in the last two weeks his sight has not improved nor worsen! So good thing is that his sight is back for the most part...Bad thing is it hasn't gotten any better! Joe is handling this trial very well! He has been in very good spirits about the whole ordeal, the only minor set back is he is going stir crazy confined to the house!

Throughout this trial he has gained a great relationship with Joey, has built a model that he has been putting off for the last 10 years, and learned the joys of being a stay at home parent! We are all adjusting to him being home all the time rather well! We go to the doctor on March 7, a week from Monday, at that time Joe's eye will be re-evulated. We are sure there will be another procedure done at this time. This will then have Joe out for an additional 6 weeks to recovery. Joe is not excited...JOEY couldn't be HAPPIER!! This means dad's at home and he doesn't have to go anywhere else!! :0) I'm dealing with everything well, I just want him to heal and not rush into going back to work. I would rather fix it now, then turn around a few weeks later only to have him pulled out of work and start the process all over again! I have complete enough paperwork between State Disability and Dishnetwork that I will be ok to never fill any more out the rest of my life!!

This trial has also brought about several blessing that we couldn't never have imagine in our lifetime! We had never felt such great love from our Ward Family as we have with this situation. Its amazing how wonderful people are!! Everyone is concerned and have just come out of the woodwork to assist us in anyway, shape or form. The unconditional love that has been felt just leaves me in such AWE! It is such a great feeling that when you don't live around your family, the ward family has jump to the plate and taken over!

We have been busy with everyday things and with Joe not driving, the errands seem to pile up at the end of the day and only have a few hours to complete them! I will say that I am not fond of driving! I have driven everywhere under the sun, it reminds me of when I first got my license and mom had me doing the grocery shopping. Um thanks, but I DON'T want to DRIVE again!! LOL..

Joey has started up baseball seasons, he is so excited! We had a hard time keeping him from talking to his team mates the first practice! He told me that he was talking because he had made new friends!! He does not like school and can't wait til his old enough to move back to Arizona and be with his cousins. He has informed me that he wants a "guys night" with his boy cousins in Arizona and he wants to go Shopping for Cowboy boots?!?! I told him that he could have Taylor take him so he goes to the right store!!

We will keep you all posted on the events of March 7th. We love you all and miss each of you dearly. The plans for this year is to come visit and spend time with our loved ones!!

Joey had the hardest time going to sleep this year! We attempted to put him to sleep at 11:00 p.m. and then we were going to get up at 4:30 a.m. (I had to go to work and be there by 7AM) Joe and I were enjoying a few movies..Joey reminded us several times if we didn't go to sleep SANTA was going to come!!

Finally, at 1:30 a.m. he came in to our room and told us to go to bed, SANTA was not going to come!! At this point, mom, dad, and Joey are all upset cause we are all tired, and no one is going to BED!! Well, finally at 2:15 A.M. Joey come running in our room to let us know that SANTA has come!! We gave in and we celebrated Christmas!! Everything was opened by 2:30a.m. and mom was back to bed to get up n a few hours for work. Joey stayed up to enjoy all the new goodies.

Santa brought the electronic scooter..Joey was dying to try it out...Christmas day was foggy and rainy..Joe finally let Joey go out about 10:00ish, the rain had let up long enough for him to ride it!!

I have a new respect for you MOM & DAD, you did this every year!! I don't know how you did it!!

Joey received a new pair of Jammies from Mrs. Clause! The shirts says "I'm pretty much one of the Best People I know" its from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid. (one of Joey's favorite movies).

Joey was so excited for this wonderful gift that he wrote a thank you note and left it for Mrs. Clause.

The note said, "Mrs. Clause you are one of the coolest people in the world! Love your friend, Joey"

Sorry to say but at this time we have cut the internet off to save a little money and so I am not able to update my blog. As soon as Joe has made a full recovery and is back to work...I will be able to update the BLOG, I have the internet at work, but can't upload pictures!!

Life...a precious gift!

So this morning I had a few reminders that there is someone always watching over us!

I awoke to my alarm this morning (5:00 a.m.) and hit the snooze button like normal. The thought of, "this is not NATURAL to be awake at this hour" kept running through my head! I could hear the rain really coming down outside..then a thought came into my mind, Renda you need to leave early this morning for work. First let me just say, Um its too early to be thinking, let alone comprehending what was being said. So I just said, "OK" and began reading the back of my eyelids. Again that thought came back: "Renda, you need to leave the house at 6:00 this morning, you need to allow extra time to get to work in this weather!" This thought kept coming back every time I hit the snooze button. So I decided I needed to get up and get ready for work!

I was off to work at 6:00 a.m. and the traffic wasn't heavy like normal. I was feeling better good! Every day I take the same route to and from work. On my daily route I have to go through a little mountain pass. Nothing too big, but there is a hillside and a little cliff on the sides of you. So I have gotten pretty comfortable with driving this road and its doesn't really bother me.

So as I came up the hill, the fog was really, really bad. The fog was so bad that I had to slow way down and could barely see anything in the front of my hood. I was thinking how grateful I was for listening to the spirit this morning. Well at the top of the hill traffic all of a sudden came to a dead stop. I was the last vehicle in the line of cars and had time to get into the other lane. We were on our way down the hill, keep in mind, this highway has two lanes with a cement center divider. There was no extra room!! Since traffic had stopped, everyone used caution.

Well about halfway down the hill there was a accident. A SUV had flipped over and was in the ditch next to the hill. There were about three cars behind the SUV that were facing at the hill , several cars on the side of the road. Keep in mind, there is about 30 cars on a two lane highway in foggy, rainy weather with no ROOM to do anything.

My heart sank! I had just come so close to causing an accident myself with the way traffic had stopped, now, right in front of me was one! WOW, I didn't stop, several people had pulled over to assist these poor individuals and there was no where for me to pull over. I was coming to the bottom of the hill and a police car was racing to the scene. Then about five minutes later, there were another police car and ambulance racing to the scene.

I felt like I was in a dream, I couldn't believe what had just taken place. I was grateful for listening to the spirit, for my life, and being kept safe!! I called Joe right after I got to work to tell him that I Loved him and Joey! Wow, I kept thinking how blessed I truly was!

So in the news, the accident happened at 06:15 a.m. (5 minutes before I got there), no one was hurt. The news also advised that the road was closed for 90 minutes while waiting for a tow truck to come! Not only had I missed the accident, but I missed the traffic. If I had left the house at my normal time, I would have been caught in the middle of the traffic jam and extremely late for work.

I will say that I kissed and hugged my family a little harder yesterday!! It has made me think how truly blessed I am to be alive and how precious life really is! We do not know when it is our time to go, but I will remember always....Life is a precious gift and is not meant to be taken for granted! Make sure you give your loved ones a BIG hug and KISS!! Life is truly too short!!

Thanksgiving Dinner!!

Joey enjoying the fine feast...if you look carefully on Joey's plate there is something missing.... any ideas? It is TURKEY!! the kid only ate potatoes, corn, rolls, and CHIPS!!

The boys kept talking in a "fancy" accent. They had fun putting their glasses up and toasting to each other. They kept saying, "fancy"...the boys had a great time!!

This is the feast!! We went to some friends house for Thanksgiving dinner after Joe's parents festivities. We had a great time!! We ate and ate some more...the boys watched a movie and the girls went shopping!! We had a wonderful dessert bar, I didn't get a picture because we left the boys home a lone with the goodies! At least we did get to try some of the yummy desserts!!

So we had some friends over to play. The girls were scrap booking, minding their own business, when we went under attack!! So then it was WAR!! The boys against the girls..if you ask the girls we won, if you ask the boys they won... All in all it was a great time by all!!

I just had to put these pictures in..the boys decided that they needed to pull their scout leader. Noticed how many scouts it took to pull one leader. It took a total of 6 to pull him. The boys enjoyed pulling the leader as much as each other!!

Joey has advanced to a BEAR!! He started Cub Scouts last year on his 8Th birthday and has enjoyed it!! He started as a Wolf and has moved up to a BEAR!!

I don't know who was more excited, Joe or Joey? Joe was super excited for Joey!! Joe could barely sit still, the awards part took forever to get too...I thought that Joe was going to jump up and take over to give Joey his awards.

When you advance the boys get their face painted. Joe got to paint Joey, Joey was super excited!

The ending game was that each kid would pair up and one would pull the other down the court on a towel. At the other end of the court, they would switch. The boys used a rope to pull each other. This was a blast!! I think that the parents enjoyed watching this event as much as the boys enjoyed doing the activity.

Joey got the smallest towel possible, (him and the other kid were one of the tallest there) the other boy did a great job pulling Joey, Joey could barely stay on the towel.

Joey was a Solider for Halloween!!

Joey decides that he wants to be a solider for Halloween. So we bought a new gun and visited the dollar store for pretend grenades and his helmet. Our dear friend Stephanie helped supply the vest and then it was official.

Well I have been trying to get a new post up, however, we had an unwelcome visit from tons of Trojans and viruses. So we had to basically wipe the computer clean and erase everything. The computer is doing well now, but I can't get the Internet to work. Apparently when you wipe the computer it takes everything out, including the Internet information. I thought I was OK with computers but I just haven't had any free time to fix it. This is where the computer fairy would be very nice, to fix it all while I was busy dealing with LIFE!! Oh well, we can still dream!! Hopefully posts will be up this weekend!! We will have tons to post, Joey's BIG day is tomorrow!!

I can't believe that I will have a 9 year old tomorrow!! Where did the time go? Joey has informed me that he is a BIG kid!! He can't wait to be 9 already!! OH to be a KID again!

The Great Pumpkin has arrived!!

The great pumpkin visited our house on Thursday evening. He left Joey two great gifts! They are a package of Nerf darts in camouflage! Just what any little boy would want!!

Joey is showing his goodies off! He barely ate any candy in waiting for the great pumpkin to come!!

The candy has been placed outside of his door and is ready to be trade for a gift!! Joey could barely wait to see what he would get!!

Crystal Has her baby!!

So Crystal had her baby 4 weeks early. As Crystal put it, was it a trick or treak?

She is healthy and doing well! We are so happy for Crystal and Jacob!! We can't wait to me her!!

Joey's Primary Program

Joey is in senior Primary this year! He lets me know every Sunday, he is in the big primary!! He is no longer in the little kids primary!! (I have tried to explain they are the same primary, but I have lost this battle!!)

Joey worked hard memorizing his part for his big day! Joe and I were very proud, he almost did it without looking down at the paper. He looked at everyone in the crowd and looked at the paper, we never saw his eyes again! I think he was little frighten with everyone watching him!! There was so many people the back was opened, this was the first time that has happened! Well I don't know who was more happy for this program to be over, me or Joey. We escaped with no nose picking, funny faces being made, no frighting with anyone else. We did manage to get a half smile, half don't look at me mom your embarrassing me! But we both survived! (barely)

I was very proud of my little man with is BIG year in the BIG primary!! Now until next year we are all safe!!

FHE - Ghosting Friends!

We decided that we would deliver some goodies and run, or ghost a few people. Well that was the intention for Joey, but he did not tell me this when I made the cards out with our names on it. So we dropped a few goodies by some good friends house for FHE. We were trying to teach Joey a little about service!

This is the first time we dropped the goodies and ran that we got caught! We did our Bishop's house (we have double couple of different times) and we have never gotten caught. So we set the stage and review all th moves...well we dropped and ran, before we made it to the end of the dark street their kids caught us! They only are the 3 house from the end of the street but hey we ran so fast!! Their kids were very proud of themselves for finally catching us!! Dang it we were so close...it was all in good fun!! :0) We were all laughing about it in the end!!

So these picures don't really make sense with the ghost theme, however our rewards after delivering the goods was In -n-Out Burger! Joey had to get a hat and made us all put them on!! He enjoyed the hat just as much as dropping the goodies and running!

Joey rock climbing at the GYM!!

Joey has wanting to go to the gym with me, so this week I added him to my plan...they kids play area is the Coolest!! The have the rock climbing wall, basketball court, WII, playground set , PlayStation, and art area...Now I must say that is in the BIG kids side, the little kids don't get as much but hey he is so excited to go!!! The parents have to say its OK for the kids to do the rock climbing way, I didn't sign him up the last time I was in there (and I haven't heard the end of it yet!!!) So first thing I signed him up for it!! When I picked Joey up he was sweating up a storm. I think he got more of a workout than I did!! He said that he climbed the wall, played in the play structure, and played TAG!!! He had a great time!!! I am glad that I added him!!

My dear Friend knows how much I love FROGS and special order this cake just for me!! I just LOVE it!! Do you notice the bag in the back ground? She gave it to me!! LOVE it!!

She also delivered this frog balloon!! And I'm feeling it!!

So I have a friend make me some hair clips, and I received a Kermit, with a cup that has a little frog sitting on the side. Inside the cup is a crown (you know the old saying, kiss a frog and your prince will come) I already got my Prince!! But loved the cup!!

These wonderful friend took me to breakfast, Joe took to me to lunch, and Joey and Joe took me to dinner...we then had friends over for pie..I ate my way through my birthday..a girls dream come true!! Of course I am still trying to recover!! Good times!!

Joey and Joe just chillin! Joe did not want to break anything so he was watching from the sidelines! He had fun chillin with the other parents!

Joey and me on the floor! This is his first time rollerblading and he did an AMAZING JOB!! He fell time and time again, but he always got back up with a smile on his face!

Joey and this little guy, Rylee, were playing tag. It was both of their first time to do this!! It was a great evening!

A member of our Bishopric is the owner of the skating rink and he opens it up to the "ward" on mutual night once a year!! It was so much fun!!

Side note, I didn't fall once...Mission Accomplished!

First Drive-In Movie

So we decided that we would go to the drive-in Movie for FHE. This was our first time as our little family was able to do it!

The Boys just chillin waiting for it to get dark enough. We got there really early so that we could get a good seat upfront!!

The goodies, so we were able to see Toy Story 3 and we stayed for another Movie. We visited the dollar section at good old Wally World!! Yeah for tons of snacks!!

The Boys stood still long enough for me to snap a picture. They played tag around the car to get out some their wiggles! It was cloudy and a little bit colder than we planned, but we brought tons of blankets so it was great!!

The Drive-in had their own playground to let the kids play before the movie! Joey just had to try it out! He was so excited. We didn't tell him until right before we left, I didn't want to hear all day when is it time to leave! We didn't get home til 1:30 a.m., but it was good time by all!!

Joey's First day of 3rd grade!!

Joey is ready for his first day of 3rd grade. He had to have the glass case that was camo and clipped on his pants.

What happened to my little boy, he is almost all grown up! He is going to be Nine this November! I keep thinking that it was yesterday I brought him home!!

He was walking to line up for his BIG DAY!! He didn't know that I took this, he didn't want us to walk too close to him. He has informed us that he is a BIG kid and only the little kids have to have their parents walk them to their class. I think that I was the one that hard the hardest day!

Mission Farewell to Mom and Dad

The whole gang (DeDe and Family were not able to make it, we missed them) This is almost all of the family! We just had mom and dad farwell and they had been set apart. We had a few moments to snap a few pictures and then they were off to Utah for their mission. They had to be in Salt Lake City at 8 a.m. the next morning and it was already 1:00 p.m.! We all really enjoyed being there for them, however, we will miss them! Good Luck on your Adventure mom and dad!!

Grandma teaching us how to play Chicken Foot. Grandma got a run for her money. Joe was trying to cheat, he learned from the best (grandma)..But Grandma was ready for it!

Grandma took us on a Tour of Brigham Young's Winter Home. It was neat cause we had a tour guide and walked all around the home. We got to explain to Joey that is what his Grandma and Grandpa Moore were going to be doing on their mission at Temple Square. Joey endured it quite well..he tried to listen for the 30 minute tour! It was a good time by all!!

Visit to St. George

We had to make Grandpa sit still lone enough to get a picture before we had to leave. We enjoyed visiting with him and Grandma.

Joey misses Grandpa's Cane. Every time we would go visit Grandpa Moore he would take his cane and hit Joey with it or he would grab Joey's legs, arms, and neck. It was a lot of fun for both and great memories for Joey.

The boys just chillin having a good old time. Joey was entained with Grandpa's wheel chair. To think we spent all that money on toys?!

We took Joey sight seeing. We went to the top of the hill to overlook St. George, Utah. We even got an up close and personal look at two airplanes landing at the airport. Joey LOVED it, Mom not so much!!

Lunch with Grandma, we all really enjoyed spending time with Grandma! We hated to have to leave, but we will be back soon!

Joey wanted to play in the water. Grandma had told him about this little water park that was brand new in town. However, this day the water was turned off for the day and we had to find something else to play in. The good news is we found this little water fountain area instead.

Joey couldn't get enough of the water. He played guns, jumped from rock to rock, and was KING OF THE MOUNTAIN! And of course, he enjoyed just chillin in the water as well! Oh to be a kid again!

Living Proof Grandpa Does SMILE!!

We went to visit Grandpa in St. George and we asked him to smile, this is what the end result was. Then grandma and I started talking about how one summer we decided to find a picture of grandpa smiling, the winner got $50.00 (at least that what we told grandma we wanted) well no one could find the picture...until now!! I think that I will be calling Grandma to collect my winnings!! Grandpa was just "resting" for awhile!

We spent our 4th of July at our Dear friends home. They invited us over to enjoy a BBQ and good company!! We went to Patty, Mike, Malinda, and Jr. place to enjoy this great Holiday. For the first time in a few years Joe and I didn't have to work on this day and we got to enjoy time together.

The McFarling wanted to make sure Joey wasn't bored at their home, so they got out the BIG GUNS!! They had this gun in the garage and got it out just for Joey!! He had a great time!! It was actually a little warm on the 4th so it was so much fun to have him play in the water!!

Fast and Testimony Meeting

So I just had to write a few thoughts.....This past week was Fast and Testimony and it was also 4Th of July! This was a great day for our little family for some many reasons!

So here are a few:
~ We have the ability to believe what we CHOOSE!
~ We are able to have our FREEDOM
~ We are able to celebrate with Great friends
~ JOE HAS COME BACK TO THE CHURCH
~ Joe shared his testimony at CHURCH!! (yes you read that correctly JOE bore his testimony)

I want to share my thoughts on the last two for now...Just a little background, Joe has struggled most of our married life to be active in the church. He has tried to be active, however, Satan was able to will the battle inside to allow him to try to find happiness elsewhere. We moved to Northern California three years ago this month. Joe received a job and our little family need a change of pace. Luckily, we do have some family around the area which made the transition easier. So with this move came many, many struggles in our lives and it also has brought SO MANY BLESSINGS!! We have been blessed with one of the BEST wards in the world! When we moved up here I told myself that no matter what I was going to be ACTIVE in the church no matter what! I will say that has truly blessed my life, as well as my families!

So as we started our new life here in California, Joe wanted to come back, however, it had been so long that it wasn't easy. Joe was able to allow himself to get to know a few members from our Ward. I would just keep telling him that he would LOVE the people if he allowed himself too! However, one great lesson that I have learned in my life, is that the more I pushed him to do something the more I pushed him AWAY! So I had a great Bishop advise me to step back and allow the blessing to bring him back. Well I stop pushing and just continued on my path of being active in the ward...no MATTER WHAT. I will say that it is has not been a cake walk, not always HAPPY times, but with the right spirit it has been VERY good!!

So as I continued to go back to church and work hard in my church callings, Joe began to allow things from the church into his life. I will say that our Bishop has played a big part, not because Joe had to go see him, but because he never made Joe feel less of a person because he wasn't active in the church. Our family has had the opportunity to form a great friendship with our Bishop and his family, this has brought great joy in our lives. Our Bishop never gave up on Joe and Joe has great RESPECT for him.

This past week Joe got up and shared his testimony with our ward. It has been about 9 1/2 years for me to hear this sweet message from my eternal companion. Joe has totally changed into the man that I married 10 years ago! Joe said that he didn't even know who was the prophet of the church because he had been so focused on staying away from the church. He was grateful that he was able to change his life around and come back. I will say that this was one of the PROUDEST moments of my life! Joe shared that he was grateful for the ward and the friends that he had made and they allowed him to come back to the church. I couldn't believe that he did it! Again, very PROUD moment.

I just wanted to share that I know that in life we will be torn in different directions and we will be tempted to go a stray, however, the LORD never gives up on any of his children. The Lord only wants us to be together forever and to choose the right. This is such a simple thought, however, the path we chose isn't the easiest. I will leave with my testimony that this is true church and that we do have prophets that living today. I know that our Church leaders are called of God and they lead us with direct inspiration. I'm eternally grateful for our dear friend and Bishop, who never gave up on our little Family!! He has played some many roles into our family coming into the church. I am grateful for the eternal love our Savior gives us on a daily basis. I am gratefully for the gift of eternal marriage and the plan of salvation. I'm so blessed to be able to be with my family for eternity, and I know that is a special gift from our Heavenly Father! I will leave with again, I'm grateful for the choice we have been given here on this earth and for our Freedom in this Country!

Thank you for love and support from all our Friends and Families! I hope that you can all remember your blessing and count them one by one! Love ya all!!

OK so I have been back from my vacation for a week and just having a hard time getting back into the swing of things! I really enjoyed the time with the fam and did miss my boys too! It was very nice to get to see everyone and the new pads ya'll have! It was a lot of fun!! It has been really hard too cause I'm missing being around with the family! I guess sometimes you have to have things taken away to appreciate them. I will say that I truly am grateful for the BEST FAMILY in the world, who always allows me to be ME. (wither that is GOOD or BAD) I am truly blessed in my life to have such a support family and a family that truly LOVES to be with each other! I have missed having the family around anytime!! Again, I just want to say THANKS for being so SUPPORTIVE of me and my family! I haven't felt like blogging cause I didn't want to start crying! However, I will post some pictures very soon!! :0)

So we blow this pool up for the BBQ party at our house. We wanted to enjoy the end of the school year and bring on the summer time!! So Joey decided that he wanted to play in the pool before we took it outside.

Joey put his blanket and pillow in the pool and acted like he was going to sleep. I thought it was so funny and of couse I had to take picture! The joys of boys!!

Our Living Room

OK so this post is for MOM...I haven't changed anything in our house since she helped me move in, like six months ago. However, since we were having a party at our house, I needed to change the empty front living room wall. So I found my shelves, picture frame (I got another one at Wally World) and glass with black rocks. I was so proud of my idea and VERY Proud of my Husband for hanging them at 11:00 p.m. the night before the party. He did a great job!! So this is what my living room looks like now. Yes, I know that the couch is not centered, however my husband moved it so that we could fit the table back to normal... At this point I am so excited to have something different in the house, plus I thought of these shelves idea like four years ago but never got the chance to use it!

This was his next to LAST day of 2nd grade! Joey got to wear his PJ to school, he brought his pillow to chill as well. The teachers made breakfast for the 2nd graders, they got to watch a movie and just enjoy the ending of the school year!!! I can't believe how big he is getting!!

Joey is sharing his poem, this was a poem that he wrote himself (OK there was a little help from his teacher). Joey did a great job, he only dropped his "cheat sheet" like four times!! But he picked up the paper and went on with life!! He did a GREAT Job!!

Here is Joeys Group each child read their poem! They worked really hard to get their poems ready. They even did a poetry book. Each child got to color his or her book, they also got to choose which book they wanted. His teacher had four different patterns to choose from. I was able to get the day off of work to be there for BUBBA. He did a great job!! I'm so proud of him!!

Surprise Party!

So my friend, Stephanie turned 40 this year and we threw her a surprise party! I had worked extra hard to work out all the details, how to get her to my house, handed out invites behind her back, set up decorations, and managed to do it all without her having a clue!

This cake is what the front of the birthday invitation looked like. Stephanie loves owls and so we thought it was fitting to do this for her!

Her family...the kids had no idea that there was a party! They were just as surprised as she was!! Even Joey didn't know, he had gone over to her house while I was "at work" (or cleaning the house and decorating) so when she dropped him off, he was like, why are all these people in my house? What is going on?

The look out MAN! Bishop thought that we needed a look out man and jumped at the chance!

FUN FAIR at Joey's School!

At Joey's School every two years they do whats called a FUN FAIR. So this is his 2nd time enjoying this great day! They have like 20 stations that the kids go to and have tons of different activities. I took a few pictures,however, I didn't even cover a fourth of what was there to be enjoyed. This was a lot of fun, however it was SO COLD!! We had had weather of like 80 and even 90 degrees, then like two days before this big event we got a HUGE storm in. So this day it was Rainy, cold, and the wind was blowing like Crazy. Well as you all know, when you have a big event played for months, you are not able to change it because of weather, so they enjoyed all the water activities in the COLD! They said that this is the first year it has ever been this cold when they did the fun FAIR! Great, the year I am more than prepared for this big event, it is SO COLD! OH well the kids enjoyed their day!!

The kids were pushing the big beach balls across the field. Well actually they chased after the beach balls! They really liked it!

They got to play with the parachute,then they throw bouncing balls into the mix. Good Times

Tug of war anyone? Joey and his team beat the other side. Then they did boys verses girls and the results are: BOYS WON!! They were so excited, the girls could care less, but don't tell the boys that!!

Dodge Ball: With soft stuffed footballs, the kids enjoyed this one!!

Water Fight! Bring it on...they had water bottles and then these water spray things..it was fun! Only got sprayed in the eye a few times, and no one was seriously hurt!!

Water Slide: It sprayed water at the time and then it followed you down the slide. Joey liked this one, but it was really COLD!

Joe Cooking

Memorial Day FUN!!

So we spent our Memorial day at our Ward Picnic. Note to self, if you "accidentally" spray three twelve year old boys with a water balloon, they will get even! So I was helping with getting the water balloons ready for the fight that was bound to happen, I would hand off the water balloons to be tied. However, if the other person did not take the water balloons at the right spot then someone would get wet. I did again, "accidentally" let some of the water out so that the balloon would be able to be tied. So I did spay a few people a couple of times, however, I did get wet by "accident" too. Well So we filled the bucket full and then went and enjoyed the food. Then at the end it was a water balloon fight, I grab a few balloons and toss them at a few children (including my own). Then before I knew it I was bombarded with water balloons coming at me in every direction. Well I was hit every where!! These children showed NO MERCY!! So when all the balloons were gone, did they stop there, of course not, they are BOYS. They then filled each individual bucket full of water and it was a FULL on Water fight. I did not have on inch of dryness on me. I had socks and shoes one, it was soaking wet. Joey did enjoy getting his mom with water!! He had a blast and I did too!! It was a great time by all.

So we dried off for a little while, then I was off to work my afternoon shift for Wells Fargo. Joe and Joey just enjoyed the weather, it was like 75 degrees with a cool breeze blowing! It was a great end to a great day!!

In Loving Memory

We truly never know when it is our time to leave this world and go back to our Heavenly Home. Joe's cousin from Idaho, (his step dad's brothers daughter)was killed on Sunday May 16Th in a car accident. She was on the way to her sister's seminary graduation and lost control of her vehicle. She was placed on life support, then the doctors told her parents that she had serve brain damage and probably would not make it. Then her parents made the hardest decision that can be placed on any parent, they took her off life support and she left this earthly home. She was only 19 years old. We had the privilege to meet her on several occasions, what a great spirit she had!!

As I have tried to reflect on my life, I am truly grateful for the knowledge that the gospel has brought into my life. I am able to lean on my Heavenly Father and know that one day I will be with him again. I am truly blessed to know that this earthly home is one that is for a short while, that our eternal home will be the BEST! I am very grateful for the relationship that I have with my Heavenly Father and brother Jesus Christ. I know that they live and I know that I will be with them again. During this hard time, I am able to find comfort in knowing that this is not the end to all things. It is just the middle section of our lives. We all came here with a purpose and we must always remember that. I just want to let all my friends and family know that I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ loves each of us, and that they know each of us!! I have no doubt in my mind that I will be with them in the after life. I do want you all to know that I am truly grateful for the blessings that this gospel brings into my life and I am grateful for the gift of eternal life. I am truly grateful to know that I will be with my family for eternity! What a precious gift that has been given to us. I will end with saying, that I love each and every one of you.

Mothers Day

Fathers and Sons Campout

Joey and Joe got to go camping for the annual Fathers and Sons!! Joe and Joey left early on Friday afternoon and had a blast!! Joe and Joey started a new tradition last year with having a water balloon fight with our Bishop and his son, the Bellantes, and the Wright family. They enjoyed the water fights and enjoyed being around nature!! Joey was so excited to go camping because he has really missed that since we moved up here!!

I have started a new tradition... On my best Friend Melissa's birthday I decorate her car windows. So Last year I wrote on her car windows... HONK ITS MY BIRTHDAY...MY MOM IS SEXY... MY MOM IS A FOXY LADY, etc... Melissa enjoyed all those people honking their car horns at her for a few days (well she didn't tell me any different)...so keeping this tradition alive I went late the night before to decorate her car windows. Well the next day I went to Melissa's house and got the lecture of my life by a 3 year old girl. Melissa's little girl, Letty, yelled at me for drawing on her moms window. She says to me "we don't draw on windows, we draw on PAPER!!" Well how do you explain to a 3 year that it will come off and it was just for fun. To put it simply, YOU DON'T...

Now part of the story you need to know is that about two weeks before, Letty decided that she would draw on her dresser. She colored all over the dresser and she even pulled it on top of herself. She was determined to finish her master piece on the top of the dresser. She was then told that you don't draw on anything other than paper! Hence, the lecture I got two weeks later. Melissa left the sayings on her window for a couple of days, but every time Letty got into the car, she would tell her mom, "I am so MAD at FRIENDA (her nickname for me), we don't draw on the CAR, only PAPER!!" So needless to say her mom got the car wash quickly!

Steer WOMAN!!

So we went to Six Flags for part of Joey's Spring Break and he rode on the Go Karts! my dear friend Stephanie took Joey around the track. Stephanie steered around the corners but Joey was allowed to steer during the long stretches. Now as you all know Joey is always blunt, and he was done with the driving when he went around the corner and the only out of his mouth was "STEER WOMAN"! That was Stephanies' clue to take the wheel!! Gotta love that BOY!! Lucky for us, Stephanie just laugh at Joey!!

Hunting for Eggs in the RAIN!!

Let the HUNT Begin!!

Joey was not able to let a LOT of RAIN slow him down during the egg hunt! We went to my sister - n -laws family's house to join in the Easter egg hunt! Joey loves going to their place, there is lots of KIDS for him to play with!! He really enjoyed the egg hunt this year!! He got money in some of his eggs!! He was the last one to find an egg. Now mind you, they were in the rain hunting for eggs for like 20 minutes, hence the drench look Joey is sporting! Then the adults were ready to go in because it was now getting cold, the kids didn't, the adult gave the last person to find the eggs $5.00. Joey was so Excited!!! We all had a great time!!

On Easter Sunday it rained so bad here in my area. Joey couldn't take being inside anymore and asked if he could go and play in the rain. Of course I remember when I was young and LOVED to play in the rain!

Joey of course had to get out his GUN to play in the rain! He just wanted to check things out in the backyard! He only played for a few minutes because it really started to pour down rain, unfortunately you can't tell in the pictures!!

Coloring Eggs!

want to color eggs. So I made him pose for a few pictures and he did one egg. He was ready to be done before we even started! The sad thing is that my baby is growing up! I don't think that I am ready for that just yet!!

The Easter Bunny Pays us a Visit!

Its funny as a parent you don't realize how the simple pleasures in life effect your family! We informed the Easter Bunny this year of Joey's simple request. Joey takes a trip to ER for Hives!

Its amazing when you tell an 8 year to smile and they don't want too, offer him chips and its all smiles!

Joey broke out in the hives on Thursday night, so going through a series of questions from what did you eat?, what activities have you been up to?, and did you change any laundry soap?...the answer was no...then remember we switched to bounce dryer sheets, they may have added. The doctor in the ER tells me that it could actually been one of many things...Not so helpful doc. So after two and half hours in the ER, two steroid pills, $100.00 later, we left the ER with no new answers. Oh the joys of being a parent!! So all is well, at least nothing that a few steroids pills and benadryl won't fix!

Great Friends = Great Weekend

The gang back together again! This visit was way too short, but it was great time while it lasted.

This is the "geek corner", all the boys were playing games on their moms cell phones!! This is at a fancy restaurant and the boys had to behave, so we gave up the phones to let them play!

We went to San Fransisco last weekend to join up with old Friends Amanda and Brighton. Well we always have an adventure when we are with Amanda and "B" man, so we went to Lunch on the Pier. I tried an oyster for the first time. Here it is!! It was actually GOOD! Joey didn't even want to think about trying it, "B" was all over it! "B" man said it was good!! The restaurant was very fancy, and well we are not fancy to say the least...But it was a good experience for all!!

Kids say the Darnest things!!

So most of you know that my son Joey, is very honest a little guy. Well his school teacher received a promotion and has moved on, he now has a permanent sub for the remaining days of the school year. Well the kids in the class deiced that they needed to get new folders with the sub (Mrs. Tuck's) name on them, since (Mrs. Ogden) wasn't there any longer. So Joeys asks Mrs. Tuck if she would buy blue folders. Blue is Joey's favorite color (at least for now)! Mrs. Turk said, We will have to see what the store has. Joey then says to Mrs. Tuck that if she gets a blue folder that he will never whine again! Mrs. Tuck, says WOW that sounds pretty good to me, No whining! Then Joey goes on to say that he will never whine again, Well actually he won't whine until he gets married. Mrs. Tuck then ask Joey's why til he is married. With out missing a beat Joey says, "well I might whine at my wife, you know I am gonna whine at her every once in a while". I got the biggest kick out of this!! Mrs. Tuck said that this was one of the things that was going to go down in the record books as most memorable moments! The store didn't have the blue folders, they only had orange folders, but at least we got a good laugh out of it!

So the other evening Joey came in our room and says that he has a sore in his mouth and it really hurt. He tells me that he needs a drink to make it better. So i told him to go into the kitchen and get a warm drink of water (I told him to put the faucet on hot so that it would be warm). So a few minutes go by and walked into the hallway to get something and Joey comes by me quickly and he has the guilty look on his face. Then I notice the chocolate mustache on his face, I asked him if he got the warm water like he was told? He says yes, then I asked him about the milk mustache? He says that he thought it would be OK to get a glass of chocolate milk and then put Hot water in it to make it a warm drink. He then tells me "it doesn't taste very good, don't try it mom"! Being the great mom that I am, I just started to laugh my head off, what was he thinking??? Well he did attempt to listen with the warm water but he added his own flare to it!! Boys, this life is only going to be a better journey with him!! I love my bubba!!

Joey's New Tent

Joey's friend Josh gave him this tent that goes over his bed and then you can zip it up and down so that you really feel like you camping out! Joey has totally loved this! He goes to sleep every night under the tent and loves his new "bed"!!

Big or Small boys love to play in a tent.. Joe had to show Joey that he was not to big to be in the tent!! So they both jump in the tent and play for a few moments! Good old time playing and the best part was that it didn't cost me a DIME!! Thanks Johns family Joey loves his new TENT!!

There is Peace on Earth

I went to the Oakland Temple last Friday and it was such a peaceful experience. I love to go and just walk on the grounds and enjoy what the Lord has blessed us with. I did get to go and do intitatories for a little while but I just had to take a moment and enjoy the grounds. That day was very cold and dark but the Temple still had beautiful flowers and was so just "PEACEFUL"! I enjoyed every minute of it!!

Joe got to take Joey to the gun range! At eight years of age the kids are able to go to the gun range and shoot!! Joey has waited for SOOOO long according to him!! He was so excited and just PROUD that he finally gets to go with his DAD to the gun range!! Boys never get tired of their toys!!

Joey really enjoyed the 22 shot gun! This was his favorite gun to shoot!! He is asking every day if he can to the gun range again!! He is ready to go and show his mom how he is a big kid and how to shot the guns!!

For Valentines Day Joe got me a dozen roses with a cute little Teddy Bear.. We got to relax and have a nice dinner at home! Joey got a little Teddy Bear with Chocolate! He really loved it!! It was a good day for All!!

Joey has been working hard to complete his achievements so that he can get awards at his Pack Meetings. Joey accomplished his first 3 achievements and got a bead. He only has 3 more and he has completed his Wolf! I'm so proud of his hard work!

Blue and Gold Awards for Boy Scouts

So we have started a new phase in our lives, Joey is in Cub Scouts. He is loving every minute!! So tonight they had the big blue and gold award cermony. Joey and Joe got to make the cake..what the theme.. ARMY.. they could do whatever they wanted and he chose ARMY.. he made the tanks out of fondo. Joey had a great time making and decorating it with Joe! I was so PROUD of my little Cub Scout!! When did he grow up?

Joey's Field Trip

Joey's second grade class got to go on a field trip today. joey was really excited about this one!! As Joey put it, "Finally a field trip that will be fun"! He really tells it like it is!! Joe and I both got to go and help make sure kids were good. We didn't get to bowl but Joey had a good time!

OK so I went to get a haircut and cut off too much.. I wanted to cut just a little off and had six inches cut off.. I had worked so hard to grow my hair but a mistake turned out for the best! I also had to get new glasses! I just thought I would so off the new look!

Joey is now old enough to start to understand New Years Eve! So this year we went to a friends house and the kids ran around and while the adults played games! It was so much FUN! We went home early because Joe had to get up really early the next morning but we did manage to stay up at our house to bring in the new year! Joey was so excited..he had a little popper to do once it was Midnight!! So we went outside and let him do that! He was so excited and HAPPY!! I was so happy for once I got to have someone else awake with me!! BRING ON 2010!!

We invited some friends over to make ginger bread houses.. The end result! Kids had a great time...Of Course they had to try a least half of dozens pieces of candy to ensure there was NO BAD candy in the bunch!! The kids had so much fun..They decided it didn't matter if they made gingerbread houses or just plane crackes with candy..either way they had a GREAT TIME!!

Joey's baptism day! It is finally here as Joey would say! He was the last one in his class to be baptize but he was sooooo ready to be bapized! He was so proud that his dad got to baptize him! Joey was just beaming all day long!
